Kelvin Billings
I recently placed ads in several locations, online and locally, with a
desire to find a new and varied range of models to work with for my
art. Within days, I had a fair few replies- but one in particular
immediately stood out.
An email arrived from a man who seemed keen on
the idea of modelling, although he had no prior experience. In
telling me a bit about himself, he came across as personable,
confident and self aware. He followed up with some images, and I was
delighted to see that he was a fit, attractive man.
I did not dare to get ahead of myself, he seemed immediately ideal...
so I held off on offering him a photoshoot. For about 3 minutes. He
accepted.
Upon meeting Kelvin, he was even more striking on several levels- his
chiselled bone structure - cheekbones and jawline, changed my shoot
ideas to include a fair whack of portraiture - which is rare for me,
for onsite work and exhibition ideas. (...after placing several
plasters on my face from where he turned his head and sliced me, that
is... Bones like that should be illegal on men. His looks are pure
catwalk.)
The other pleasant surprise was his very nature... charming and
intelligent via mails, he was even moreso in the flesh. His
enthusiasm was apparent, and his interest and curiosity about the work
that I do was absolute artistic aphrodisiac.
Once in the studio, I anticipated nerves, or tension. None were apparent.
Once John Virtue started shooting, Kelvin took direction well, and
there was no sign of *first ever photoshoot waste of a zillion
shots*... even the test shoots were useable.

Within 24 hours, I had started 3 separate drawings and paintings -
Kelvin is complete muse/inspiration. He has now successfully managed
to book further shoots with several photographers of varying genres.
I myself intend to work with him as often as possible- he is an
absolute joy. Watch this space, and the site in general, for original
artworks and prints. |
I woke up to images of Kelvin this morning, with it being a serious case of the morning after the night before- I was badly hung over and "work" was the last thing on my mind, however- working on images and a website page for this aesthetically "as close as it gets" perfect man for the best part of the day certainly cleared away the fuzzyness!

"Kelvin looks like the perfect (chiseled) man! Dark, brooding,
introverted, with all the right bits rippling and a nice set of undies
to match! I can't wait to see the artwork from this."
